I need to charge my kids Polaris sportsman 90 2005 atv. Do you know if this battery needs to be vented before charging. I didnt notice anywhere to vent it on top.


Update. I found a thin strip on top after taking the battery out of the atv. I only vented 1 side, this should be enough. I've had it on the charger for 2hrs now. Any clue on how long it takes to charge one of these things.


Update. Thanks for all the input. It took 3 hrs to charge.

 

on the top of the batteries on our sunls they say charge rate with a .5 amp charger 10 hours charge time, with a 10 amp charger 30 minutes. also our batteries are sealed with no vents

 

If its not a gell style battery. Then you need to vent it before charging. Other wise it will swell and pop on yah. Been there done that. It didnt look as though mine had a place to add fluids but with some poking around I found it.
