2006 pred 90 to slow

just bought this and it runs way to slow. I take it out on the small dunes but out on flat land it just seems to only go so fast then stop. maybe 9 mph is something wrong with the bike or is this expected.

Hello,
There is a restrictor that needs to be removed. The dealership is not allowed to remove it. You have to remove it yourself. Read your manual, it will tell you where it is. It is just a little, flat metal piece. You will get a lot more speed after you remove it. It is very simple to do. Good luck!

the speed limiter is located on the CDI unit. Two screws that are side by side. remove the jumper from the screws, retighten them, enjoy your new toy.

.
Along with the CDI steel strip jumper, do confirm the setting of its thumb control screw. Some folks remove the jumper but forget to adjust the thumb control screw. Sometimes the dealer sets both of these RPM control settings. For your young rider, do re-adjust this screw to the "comfort" speed of your young rider's skill. In other words, don't unscrew this screw "all the way" until he/she is ready for its hidden power.
Hope this helps as well...
