Yamaha Grizzly 80 Lights

If you run with the lights on and it doesn't charge the battery at the same time, then you need to:
1 - Lower the Watts load of the installed lights. This would mean installing lower wattage light bulbs. Most factory stator systems can only support a max of 30 Watt "total loads". Above its max limit and its factory stator can't keep up. Or, it will also drain your battery at the same time. Some brands of minis can run a max of 75 watt loads. Sorry, I can't remember the max watt load for the Yamaha 80.
Note: For Daytime Running lights 2 x 10 Watt bulbs or 1 x 20 watt works great. If running at dark (which I do NOT recommend for young riders), one should use 2 x 35 watt bulbs (as a minimum). 2 x 35 Watts is way over the 30 watt limit of most mini stator systems.
&/or
2 - Increase the power output of the stator. If you contact http://www.rickystator.com/ they may have an unlisted High Output stator for the Yamaha. Give them a call and inquire if they have such a unit. If you contact a few electrical motor shops in your area, they might be willing to re-wind your factory stator. Thus, making it a high output unit.
Hope this helps....
