Wow LT50 racing! How old are the competitors. My 5 year old rides an unrestricted LT50,trouble i he spends more time looking over his shoulder to see whos there than where he,s going.
Presumably you have removed all the restrictions?

Hello the racers are 5 to 9 and yes all the restrictors are out but the thing just don't get up like some of the other 50's out on the track there are a couple of lem,s and some other's but my son's will not holeshot like some of the other quad's I am just looking to give his a little more power to make the race interesting I am not one of those dad's that will put ton's of money in the quad and win every time I want him to earn the respect and know what it is like to loose I think a young one need's that anyway if you know of any trick's it would be great thank you

I've had 2 - LT50's that I've been dissappointed with, down to 1 now. Both slugs! Won't get out of its own way. If the wheels are turned & you gas it, it wont move unless on hard ground.
B U T W A I T !!!!!!!
After a couple years of dissappointment, I decided to do some work to it.
W O W ....
Removed both restrictors, 1-in the exhaust, 1-where the intake meets the jug (very few people are aware of that one including half the idiots at the dealers). Had the carb bored, went to clamp on air filter, removed oil injection, milled the head .035, cut about 2" off the forward side of the spark arrestor. Huge difference ! All total spent $150. Bike belongs to my 6yr old daughter, but now can't keep my 10yr old son off it. This started out being his bike when he was 5. He now races an L80, but loves to play on the LT50. He can get a donut going in some good sand.
I'm not trying to make the LT50 out to be something it's not, but I wish I'd a done the $150 worth of work a long time ago.
Well worth it.

My FAVORITE subject!!! The LT50 is a gas once you do the right things to it. First, if you are racing it, find out what mods are legal with your racing club. There are some pretty cool things you can do with the little guy to make it fly (for a 50). For all out performance, you must go with the CT Racing kit. It includes a true expansion chamber pipe with silencer, K&N air filter, high compression head and jet kit. After taking out all the stock restrictors, installing the pipe, head (I purchased CT's head so I would have the stock head when my 2 year old is ready to start riding) and air cleaner, re-jetting, my son's LT50 will go 24 mph. And it took all of 2 hours to accomplish. To squeeze a little more out of it, there are some shops that will do port and polish work to really make it scream. Next I threw some Works shocks on it, which gives the suspension 4 inches of travel compared to the stock 2 inches, and you should see my son go. What a fantastic little machine once you un-clog it! After several riding sessions I bought him a purpose built 90cc racing quad. You know what? He prefers the LT50!! He has that much fun on it. Unfortunately, nobody has figured out a clutch solution, but with the low center of gravity and great stability, your little racer can keep the gas on it all the way through the corners and across the whoops. Enjoy this great little machine!!

I just removed the restrictors. Removed small pilot jet and cut the domed part of the exhaust baffle(wondering if i hould take more off-not really sure what the spakk arrestor is?) Drilled a load of extra holes in the airbox lid and fitted a slightly larger main jet (these seem to be hard to get in the UK) My next move will be getting the head skimmed. The bike already seems to rev really hard now-no one mentions altering the gearing? Have left the oil tank on,how does premixing improve matters?
Thanks
Ian
