Default Shock question

My Marshin 150 is very stiff in the front. Could a guy cut off part of the springs on the shocks to soften it up any?? Has anyone done this??

Thanks

.

If found the front shocks on our Pred-90 were too stiff from the factory as well. Installed 1.5" wheel spacers on the front and due to further out geomentry, the spring rates were suddenly perfect. As a suggestion, add 1.5" spacers on the front of your ATV. It will make the ATV "less tippy" in the corners or moments of improperly leaning and reduce the stiffness of the front shocks. Worked for us...

Are the springs removable from the shocks? The only way that might work is if you could cut the springs and then stretch them back out to their original length and reinstall them.Just cutting the springs will not make them any softer and will just reduce the ride hieght of your atv....I would really look at getting some different shocks.Yours may have too much compression dampening regardless of the spring thats on them.

Good point, if I measure the length of the current shocks and buy a set based on that measurment will that be all I should consider in fitting the new shocks ?
