Predator 90 Brake Light
The brake light on my son's Predator stays on all the time. Consequently, or coincidentally, it will start without the brake applied, which I do not like. A cursory look at it doesn't reveal a brake light switch. Does anyone know where the switch is? We ride in very dusty conditions (almost like talcum powder) so I don't doubt that is what is causing it. now I just need to know where to start looking to fix and prevent it.

The brake light switch is actually built into the left handle bar assembly. If you press the left brake handle, you might be able to see the little pin inside the lever connection - where it swivels. Yes. Dust in that area can make the pin stick. If dust gets into this area and water (from washing or natural condensation), the dust turns very sticky. Thus, this pin "can" stick.
As a suggestion, wash the insides of the brake lever "pin" area. Let dry for 24-48 hours, then add some WD-40. This oil will lubricate the area but also reduce future moister from getting in. Try this trick and let us know how it turns out.
Hope this helps...

I ended up disassembling the switch. The plastic pin was bent almost into an "L" where it was supposed to contact the brake lever and instead of pushing it in, the brake lever just rotated it out of the way. I pulled it all apart, straightened the pin, hosed it all down with AeroKroil, and put it back together. It works fine now. Thanks for the pointers, Spike99.
I'm guessing dust/sand got in there and bound the pin up then when the brakes were applied the pin couldn't move back and just bent over.
