Default LT80 hard start

Hello to everyone. I am new to this website. I joined cause i found it to be very halpful and have some great members.

I have a Suzuki LT80 that isn't starting. I can hear the starter relay clicking when I press the start button but the starter isn't engaging. The starter isn't stuck on the flywheel cause I loosen it up and tapped it with a hammer. The motor isn't locked up cause i pushed the piston down with a screwdriver from the spark plug hole. I have disconnected the wire from the relay and traced it back to the starter. I noticed it has negative current. Is this correct ? Shouldn't it be a positive current?

Make sure the stater reset button is pressed under the right rear fender. I had the same problem. I cleaned the gunk out of the carb and that did it. Good luck.

I don't see a button under the right rear fender. I have a 95 model. Is it suppose to have that?

I had a new 95 model,I don't think the 95's have it.
It IS a positive charge that should be going to the starter.
I'll go read your hot wire thread now.
