i just bought a 2002 bombardier ds50 for my son and it feels like it is rev'd out when full throttle.any way of making the 50 faster without engine work?i was told i can remove a slug in the intake and replace the cdi box.is this all safe to do for the engine?also was looking for some wheel spacers to make it a bit wider.anyone know of a company that sell aftermarket proformane parts for this quad?any help would be great...thatnks...also does anyone know where i can get a good used service/repair manual for this quad.thanks...peter

Does the CDI box from Scooter Assassins come with directions? It doesn't look like it matches up. I have a 2002 DS50. I see another box in there 1 1/2" X 1 1/2" silver in color with a 4 wire plug the schematics say this is a "pacifier" does that mean restictor? I unpluged it and ran fine just not faster. what the heck is this thing if it runs the same with or without it pluged in???

I traced the wires to that silver thing and it ended up to the electronic choke. (on the carb)

The "slug" is a metal washer welded into the intake tube from the air cleaner. Pull off the tube (metal pipe) and on the carb end of the tube you should find the washer. I used my Dremel tool to grind off the weld, be careful the washer is stronger than the tube, you don't want to bend the tube. Also clean all the metal shavings off so they don't get in the engine.
