Default Opinions on ETON? Jackel?

Does anyone have an ETON? I'm considering a Viper 70-4s for my son for Christmas. I'm a single mom trying to play Santa Claus to a little boy who has his heart set on an ATV for Christmas. I've looked at a Jackel 90, and my brother (whose daughter is also getting an ATV for Christmas) has looked at the ETON brand. Any opinions on these ATV's? I'd appreciate any information/opinions/advice that you may be able to offer.

amywhit,

Eaton's are good quads.

Look at the Unison Desert Cat 50 and 90 from Raceway. A lot of people here really like the quality of their Unison DC quads.

DC50

DC90

Jackel's are Chinese quads with upgrades on some of their parts. This would be my last choice if I had to purchase a smaller quad.

SB.

I've also heard good things about the Unison desert cats, and will be buying one shortly. From what I've heard Eton is a decent, good quality brand, while Jackel would be a cheaper, bit lower quality brand. Unless you know how to fix ATVs all the time, I would steer clear of Jackel.

Get the Eton, My son has the viper 50, no probelms, had it for two years, love all the opions. We compared to all other brands and Eton was the best way to go.

And why would you steer clear of the Jackel brand?
My experience has been quite good with the 55R that I bought for my 10 yr old.
I paid $900 and have NO COMPLAINTS.
Full 6 month warranty, easy to get parts for, etc.
It's probably the only ATV made in China that I would consider buying again.
Certainly much better than the POS SUNL 70 that we had before.
Do you have direct experience with Jackel?

There is nothing wrong with Jackel. Jackel is one of the only companies that takes the time to go through the quad and replaces all the cheap chinese parts that are prone to failing. They put alot of good japanese parts to make them reliable. Carb's bearings, ball joints, etc...If you were to go chinese Jackel, Jetmoto andf Baja are at teh top. Kazuma is close but for the money these other 3 are much better. The DC90 IS NOT chinese. They are Taiwan made by the same company that makes Polaris, xtreme, eaton, yerf dog and many others. They all have the same 90cc 2 stroke motor that has been around for years and years. Very reliable and easy to take care of. For the money you just cant go wrong with the Unison DC90 and you can order it right from Raceway. This is just as good if not better than any name brand quad but alot less money.

How old is the child that is going to be riding this. The age and size may determine if these will be too small or too big. My son is 8yo and he is tall. The 90 fits him great and will fit him for another cpl years. I dont think you will read anything bad about the dc90. Thats how good they are.

Thanks for all of the great replies, guys! I really appreciate it. I went to look at the ETON, and I THINK I'll be going with that one.
