Default Problems w/ Chinese Quads... could you be to blame?

On my way home from work tonight I was thinking of how I keep reading about engines and tranny's breaking. I thought, are these people breaking them in properly and are the manuals telling them how too, or do the consumers choose not to read it but go out and beat it up around the woods once receieved. If anyone who owned/owns a Chinese quad and who broke it in (or something similar), as suggested by the manufactuer and still had major problems, post here. I would appreciate real posts from real buyers, not angry anti-China salesmen and members...

Sir,
Most of us "anti-Chinese" people owned many motorcycles throughout our lives and are no rookies. We know how to read and know how to break them in. I'm just speaking for me, but I couldn't have been more kindler and gentler to mine. I was never really hard on them and they couldn't hang/broke. However, there are those made in "China" that do well. Desert Cats, some Kazumas / Redcats and others.
Blaming the consumer for poor (to no) quality killed GM, Ford and Dodge. SEADAWG

I must have owned about 15 chinese quads in the past few years and only had trouble with 2 of them. One was a sunl which was replaced and a JM which also was replaced. The rest have held up fine. I do think it is a big part on how it is put together, ridden and maintained. I am a mechanic so I keep up on everything I have. Yes the chinese quads are alot more maintenance but they can be very reliable. SO the answer to your question is yes I think we are a large part of the blame.

Im not sure what I think about this thread just yet. I do agree that there are a lot of folks who buy these quads in a crate and think all they have to do is bolt on the wheels. In there defense there are a lot of people selling chinese quads, and making those exact claims. "just bolt on the tires and adjust the handlebars" Ive read something to that effect in many E-Bay Ads. And I also think there is a lot of junk coming here from China. And all the prep and maintainence in the world wont keep them running.

Ill think about this some more.

Welcome to the forum 1976 and I think SEADAWG ought to thank you for taking some of the heat off him for am while.

This thread could get interesting.

I'm not trying to put people down by any means, but you do have to admit there are some people who couldn't work a screw-driver if their life depended on it let alone break in a bike properly. I'm just trying to look at this all at every angle possible before I dump 100's of dollars into one, so if I offend some people, so be it.

I would have to agree with you on that for sure. I also think there a are a lot of those same kind of people selling/importing chinese quads giving those same types of people false hope in their inexpensive quad purchase. Did that make sense?

Yes I agree that there is alot of junk being sold anywhere on the net but even the quads that seem to hold up really good hold up alot better from someont that takes the time and keeps up on it as apposed to someone that just bolts the wheels, fills it and goes. Its those people that give some of the good chinese quads bad reviews. Hopefully thats where JetMoto comes in and pushes all the bad crap out becuase they wont be able to compete wit JM.

Dealer no. Just a 30 year old guy from Pittsburgh Pennsylvania looking for something that will allow me to spend time with my brother cruising the trails, doing some hill climbs and just enjoying the great outdoors without putting me in debt.
