New Hensim 70cc!

Ill be honest with you. The knowledge you gain by searching this forum will far surpass an one of those horribly written manuals. If you managed to put it together then the rest of the info you will find right here, and in plain english.

Has anyone figured a way to adjust the hand brake. The Hensim site claims that the hand brake is adjustable, allowing younger riders to reach the hand brake. My son has to really stretch out his hand to grip the brake, and tends to just crank on it because of this.

I have not really looked at it. I was thinking about trying an aftermartket lever that is shorter and has more of a curve. They are made for one or two finger operation, but should work pretty good for a little hand. Not sure if it will work, but I am going to check into it.

Hey speedknot-
Noticed you bought a hensim 3 months ago. How has it held up? POS or decent?. Also how old is your child. Mine are 5 and 7 and am wondering if the 70cc is a good fit. Also considering the Kazuma Falcon so will post another question for answers here.
Thanks

My two cents...
The only two things I don't like about the Hensim 70cc is that you really can't throttle down the speed and doesn't do well in deep sand.
So, I keep her in wide open spaces and avoid the soft areas. But other than that, I really can't complain for $460.00... It's been very reliable. And hell, if it can pull me up a hill - it can't be all that bad!

I had one for a couple months now, and my son is 4 soon to be 5. The throttle limiter is the biggest drawback (or lack thereof). I added wheel spacers and that was it. I like the larger turning radius, as it keeps my boy from cutting corners too sharp. It has been holding up well, and starts right up. He has really improved since riding this thing (graduated from powerwheels), and the smile on his face is priceless. I did back off the throttle screw and took it for a spin - this little thing hauls me around no problem.

You said your boy was 4, now 5 years old. Did you get him the 70cc? Was this a good fit? Is this quad going to be too small for a 7 year old?

Thanks for the detailed response. Very helpful.
I just dont know why these Chinese brands dont research these problems, even throuh these forums, and fix them (ie brakes, lights, connections, carbs, etc). I understand its about cutting corners to save money, but if one of these companys spend $25-50 more for improvements I bet many(not all) of the problems would go away. More importantly, I and many others would spend $100 more to get more dependable quality which would increase there profit, not to mention sell more of their units. Its amazing how fast positive referrals will sell a product.
I am not saying for them to build a Honda, but just spend an extra nickel to eliminate some reoccurring problems and make a dime in the process.
