2005 ETON 90 Problem-please help son bumed!

I had the same problem. What I did was take the side cover off the tranny on the right side. I disconnected the lever and large wheel that connects to the grear shifter. I then manually moved the gear shift lever into the middle slot. That is the Neutral slot. I reassembled the tranny and then I did the electronic reset to the tranny. It worked. I think that it just got stuck in between gears and wouldn't do anything until it was in sink with CDI.

A few weeks ago my son pulled his 90 viper out and could not get it started, it was in N with the brake squeezed and switch ON, and would crank but not start! I then noticed the N light was flashing and decided to let it sit for a few minutes with power off, and then attempted to start it and it fired right up!
Then, last night my son pulled it out again to ride, and all it does is flash! When I turn the key I can hear the CDI box click and then a few seconds later it clicks again and starts flashing the gear indicator and won't fire up! I sprayed WD40 on several connectors including the three wires going to the tranny with no success. Please..... Anyone have a clue on what could be going on?
