Default KAZUMA DINGO 150

Looking for a little help with my dingo150...it has been a lot of fun the past 6 or 7 months but two weeks ago it started skipping at full throttle (idles OK ) I drained the tank, cleaned the carb, fuel filter and the airbox and made sure the air filter was clean reinstalled everything and it started right up I thought I had fixed the problem but the hotter the engine gets the worse it runs at high speed....I unpluged the choke to see if that had anything to do with it but it made no difference.
I ordered a new carb and its on the way but someone said something about the valve adjustment, can anyone give me a little help... I used this forum to make up my mind when buying my atv...and I know from reading this forum some people will put their two cents in and don't even own one, they just hate them so bad and or so narrow minded till they muddy up the water, some of us will not and can not pay $5.000 to $6.000 for a buggie to haul their fat butts around, I don't race it, I just use it to haul corn to my feeders and haul out a deer once and a while.....productive comments welcome...thanks

Try this service manual, it will step you through the valve adjustment procedures. It is for a buggy but it's the same GY6 engine you have in your Dingo. It also has electrical test procedures if it turns out your hesitation is electrical. Service Manual

Good Luck.

Thank You SB,
I downloaded the file looks like alot of good information for future use !!!!!!
if I stay with this small ATV. It will go as fast as I need it to go, but will not go as fast as they say. if I have good fuel in it it will run 31 or 32 mph with a GPS if I have regular gas it runs 29 to 30 mph.....when its not skipping.

Thanks,
Archeric

ARCHERIC,

Your welcome anytime.

I think most of the Chinese manufactures over stated the speed of their 150's. I think my 150 was advertised at 45 mph. Heck I don't know if mine will even hit 30 mph.

Do you have plans on going with a bigger quad?

Will you buy another Chinese model or go Name Brand?

Good luck.

Right now I'm going to get this one running like new.....It has to be something small. something I'm overlooking... I didn't give but $1500. tax and shipping and it was put together ready to ride.
I will buy a larger 4 wheel drive unit in the next year or two but I will not go over 300 or 400 cc. I have looked at a 250 4x4 made in china for $3200 compared to $4700 PLUS FOR A NAME BRAND BIKES. I don't race or jump. I use it to save wear and tear on me. I know it is ugly and it 's not an adult bike like the ads claim. but I weight 185 lbs and I have hauled 250 lbs corn plus gear in the woods and it diidn't act like it slowed any. That might be what is wrong with it....I don't know !
The reason I like the small atv's is because I hunt four hours from home and I don't like to pull a trailer that far every week.
I want to be able to put it in the back of my '05 Tacoma short bed and not worry. some of the guys I hunt with have these giant monsters that have to be trailered in and are so big that they cant go in some of the tight places mine will go and the trails are so bad till mine will go about as fast as they go. They laugh till they hear how money I gave for it.....Mine will not pull a set of plows but I knew it couldn't. The only reason for a four wheel drive is I have been stuck several times this year but all I had to do was pick it up and set it out of the rut and walk it out of the bogg !The next time you are in Wal Mart look at where about every thing comes from.....china !

ARCHERIC,

Sounds like your Dingo has done good for you. These are the kind of posts people need to read about the Chinese quads. Each year I think the Chinese quads will get better. Mine for the most part has been OK. I have had to replace and repair a few things. I did buy my daughter a new Honda. I bought the Honda because I was tired of the issues I would have after my son would ride the Chinese quad. Each time it came back, if it did come back, the quad became more unreliable. My son was basically the test pilot. I was not going to have a machine that had a chance of not bringing my daughter back from a long ride. So I purchased what I know has a proven track record and for my sake, I would not have to worry. Now if it was for me I could have cared less. It is different for my children, they must be protected no matter how much it costs.

I know that a few months back I said I would never purchase a Chinese quad again, but I have changed my mind. I do have plans right now to replace my 150 with a newer model 150 from either Jetmoto or BMS. I like my 150 for it's intended use (camp site quad) but I want to see if the newer ones are more reliable. For me this would be a test quad and I would buy it just to see how it compares to my current 150. It will still have to be tested before I will let anyone other than myself take it out on a long ride. I am also waiting for the Jetmoto 250's to be released. If it turns out to be as good as people are saying they are I would like to put it up against our TRX250. People may be surprised if the Jetmoto can hold it's own against the Honda. Which I'm hoping it will.

If you do purchase a bigger Chinese Quad keep everyone posted on how it turns out. Remember they can only get better, otherwise people will stop buying them.

When I was looking at this website before I purchased the Dingo150, I was looking at a 250 and some people said the 150 pound for pound was the way to go, the 250's had radiator cooling problems but the 150 GY6 was an old work horse and very under rated. I think I got what I paid for. I really wish that the Chinese would build a four wheel drive in a small frame bike like a 175 or 200cc class. I saw a new atv on e-Bay the last few weeks that looks good , its a Sunl sal175 (150cc's) and an Sla255 (200cc with 250 heads) I think it looks more like a Jap bike than most atvs from china (all but some of the colors) I know Sunl is not new but this model is.
I wish I could find aftermarket parts at home instead of having to order them over the internet to make sure it's what I need. I haven't purchased anything from Raceway but it seens people like him !
how do you vote on that poll??

ARCHERIC,

Here is how I look at the parts issue and even the issue on what dealer to purchase my bikes or quads from. For parts on my Jap bikes and quads I am fortunate to have 3 dealers in a 15 mile radius plus not to mention a handful of racing specialists to deal with. However, even having 3 local dealers, parts are not always available for the bikes/quads that I own and I almost always have to wait 5 to 7 days for the parts to come in. Pretty much like you, I still have to "mail order" them.

Now for the Chinese parts I have been able to match up some parts at my local Napa Auto Parts and had to order the rest from the manufacturer.

As far as what dealer to purchase from for either the Jap or Chinese bikes or quads, whoever is going to give me the best deal is going to win my business. Customer service, parts and repair shops are on the low end of my list. These items are not a factor on purchasing for me. Price is my selling point. I have yet to use the "warranty" for any of my Jap or Chinese bikes/quads, so this is not a priority to me.

Again, parts are obtainable almost anywhere. You will find them with a little research. You may have to order them or you might get lucky like me and find them at your local hardware (nuts and bolts) or auto store.

I'm sorry, your post did get off subject. Hopefully others will post on your hesitation issue. Whenever I have experienced a hesitation in my bikes it was usually rider error from leaving the choke on or from a dirty main jet at full throttle. Or even improper jetting, I just had to go up one main on my sons 125 for this very reason.
