What fuel grade do must of you run in your import quads?

I recall a thread I can't find that suggested premium fuel, is this the norm?

If so are the benefits really worth the extra cost?

Default Regular or Premium Gas?

I run mid grade in all of mine, and they would probubly be just fine on regular.

It would be a total waste of money running premium fuel. You will get no perfromance gains unless you are running a quad with high compression like 12:1 or higher. Some quads actually run worse with higher octane fuel because it burns too cool. Lower octane fuel burns hotter so unless you have pre detonation stay with regular.

Regular - like 2many said - as long as no pinging. I've tested premium in my truck pulling my camper for long distances and contrasted it with the next tank of regular - no noticeable difference.

Sir,
I run regular in all my 4 strokes...Japs and Chinese and they do fine for me. If you notice pinging, go up. Test it and see if you notice. SEADAWG

Just to add my .02 These engines are built and tuned to run on regular, unless otherwise stated. Premium fuel isnt too easy to find over there. Like the other post said, you are wasting your money on premium. I know im comparing apples and oranges but my corolla is tuned to run on regular while my wifes sienna calls for mid grade(89oct) as per the manual. My fathers CTS-V calls for premium. As said before, its what its tuned for. One more thing, make sure the gas is fresh.

I run regular 87 octane in my quad and my S10 pickup , i've used stabil in my fuel for years untill i found the seafoam fuel cleaner/staybilizer this stuff is the best fuel treatment i've ever used ! It cleans the entire fuel system and also the combustion chamber , try it you'll like it ! You can get the seafoam at O'Reallys , Auto zone and Advance Auto Parts Stores, i got mine from O'Reallys for $4.99 + Tax it may be more or less in your area ! ....................williebee

Good question. My manual for my 250 says premium, so thats what I have been running in it. And because I am too lazy to switch the pump over to mid/regular for my 150, I just finish filling it up. Works out ok thou, its what my SUV takes too.
