Hey, and let's also talk about whether quads made in Taiiwan are better or not. Who has Taiiwanese kids quads (Eton, Kymco, Arctic Cat(?), Kawasaki(?), perhaps BRP?
And perhaps we can at some point catalogue what comes from where in the small quads, and what really IS Japanese and American/Canadian made. It does vary for the kids versus the adult machines.

Do we care? As long as they are ridden responsibly, and safely, does it really matter if we categorize any of them?

I got my son a new Alpha Sport Cobra 180cc for Christmas,Made in Taiwan. It was new,but a 05 model, that you can tell it was sitting outside, the decals are very faded.I would not have bought it,but the guy selling it wanted me to swap my labor for it(I own 2 auto and truck repair shop's) The reason that I would not have bought it was, they are so much more than the Chinese atv's.(I swaped $1850.00 worth of labor, and the faded price tag on the bar's was $2599.00) We own 3 Yamoto 150cc atv's,an 04-exactly like MWQ's Yamoto, and 2-05 Yamoto 150's with dual a-arm's,and the Yamoto's are much faster off the line and top end.(My son keep's asking me-it's a 180cc-bigger than the 150cc's,why is it slower Dad??)But the Cobra, even with single a-arms,it a very solid, comfortable, sturdy machine. The dealer selling them has 1 cobra, and 2 90cc Colt's left, and since the Chinese invasion came into the U.S. with a Vengence, they became very hard to sell(he is selling all at below cost)I remember when he first starting selling them, they sold fast. But,it seem's that there are so many people that would rather save as little as $50.00 than shop around, read the forum, and buy a much better ATV-Chinese or what ever( A QUOTE FROM MWQ-BUT I SURE AGREE!)

Thanks for the warm welcome every one. Easy with the old fart thing. What exzactly is the new definition of old. I'm 36 here. I started riding 3wheelers in 1981, a honda 110...big tires no rim, no tread either. Did a short desert racing stint on a 82 250R- big tires + short swing arm + big power = many scar's down back. Fav bike is the 85/86 250R. My opinion the all time best all around bike ...the 185S. Everybody had em, slow enuff to drive kids, fast enuff to get yourself hurt on. Roll it down a hill or lose it off the back of your truck...pick it up and drive it off. We'll thats my 2cents. Thanks anyway

cvame, I have 4 boys and are looking to get into some quads also. I am looking at the 07 Jetmotos mostly but have not ruled out used big 4 quads. The wife and I would really like to have new and with only a $6000. budget and wanting 3 quads the Jetmotos look attractive! Keep me informed as to what course of action you take! I'm just above you in Utah!

cvame I'd say the definition of old fart is either you are over 40, or you have ridden something from the 70's and liked it.
You might be safe.

MWQ,
The old 110 I had was a "79", I've ridden many dirt bikes from the seventies before that, and I have Bob Hannah's autograph. Again I'm "36" sooo that doesnt make me old right?? Nostalgic then??
