Aftermarket battery
#15
My sunl 110 battery didn't hold a charge after about a week...
So I went to Wal Mart and bought an Everstart Maxx Battery for it. The model Number is ES4LBS. The dimensions are: 4 1/2" wide X 2 13/16 Deep X 3 3/8" tall. The manual says to charge it 1-2 hours at 1.5 amps... I have a 2 amp charger, so I will charge it tonight, and hopefully the boys will be riding tomorrow. The battery is the same size as the chinese one that came in the atv, but maybe an inch shorter. The people at wal-mart knew nothing about the batteries they are selling, so I had to open a bunch of boxes to find one the same size. For some reason, the box does not tell the CCA (cold cranking amps). I was tempted to put a riding mower battery in there and make it fit (lol) but I didn't. The battery came with a one month free replacement warranty and a 6 month pro-rated warranty.
Why don't they tell the CCA on any of the powersport batteries?? They do on mower and car batteries. *shrugs*
The Sunl came with what looks like a battery tender, a small wall plug in with alligator clips... Do I need to use that?
The silly ATV has remote start, some type of horn alarm, which I want to unhook... Does anyone know if the alarm will drain the battery?
I don't Want remote control Anything. My kids have been riding ATV's for over a year and dirt bikes for 4 yrs, so I won't need to use the remote kill. And the Alarm? WTH is that for?
Anyone have any experience with this particular battery for their ATVs?
