Default 2007 LTZ50 Speed restriction confusion

I am confused about how many restrictions their are on this bike. I know for sure about the spacer in the tranny. I've been reading conflicting posts about intake and exhaust restrictions. Can anyone tell me without a dout if their are intake and exaust restrictions. Thanks for the help i can get.

I could not find any restrictions that could be removed in the exhaust(pulled it off and looked every where)...I removed the spark arrester, but it yielded no gains..so I put it back.
And I have not heard of any intake restrictors..either

I am hoping that CTRacing comes out with the CDbox soon...they also seem to have a pipe and jet kit for these

I think the confusion comes from the 2-stroke vs. 4-stroke engines these machines have had. On the 2-stroke (pre-2004?), there are most definitely restrictors on the cylinder intake and exhaust. I have one for my son, I've seen them, and they are documented in the owner and service manuals.

It's beginning to sound like the 4-stroke relies on this "spacer" plus perhaps something in the ignition system. I don't have a 4-stroke version so I can't comment from personal experience.

I will say that the 2-stroke version has plenty of get up and go even with just one restrictor removed. Ours is now missing the exhaust restrictor, while everything else is in place, and it's PLENTY powerful for our son - and probably will be for a couple more years. Nice to know there's several more steps we can go through as he gets older and more skilled before we have to start thinking about upgrading. We're very, very happy with our 2002 model.
