Default premix oil in new unison desert cat?

hi,
thanks to all who answered my posts and help me choose the DC90. Got it yesterday from Raceway. Have two other chinese atvs bmx and kazuma. No comparison between the unison and other chinese ( mainland) quads. The DC90 is very well built . Should I premix the first tank of gas 50:1 to ensure the engine gets oil? Called John at Raceway He said he dose not, but said it could be done- he ususally dosen't worry about it per him. As well manual says SAE 10w-40 for engin oil- went to local motorcycle shop they gave me 2 stroke synthetic oil- says nothing about 10w-40 on it , showed them the manual and said this is what I need- is that the right oil?

thanks to all

Yes, I would listen to your local motorcycle shop on this one. The 10W-40 the manual is speaking of has to be referring to the gearcase fluid. As for the oil needed in the oil tank, it needs to be a 2-stroke pre-mixing oil. You really don't need to add any extra oil to the fuel for its first tank of gas. It really wouldn't hurt anything though if you did other than possibly fouling out the spark plug.

Elroy is right on. I use 2 stroke synthetic oil in out Unison since day one. It runs great. No need to premix. These motors have been around for a long time and are the most used 90cc 2 stroke anywhere. These are very tough little quads. Good luck and have fun. You will like it alot.
