cdi box on a Raptor 50

So would it be better to go with the 76.3 or the 80? I want to get all of the parts so I can work on it this weekend since it is going to be a heat wave. It's going to be almost 50!

Well..... I hooked up the Procom cdi and removed the spark arrestor from the exhaust. After adjusting the carb adjustments I have to say WOW! It starts alot better, has more power and is definately faster. The only issue I see is at top speed it is reving high. Is there a chance that I could blow the engine? Monday the new jets are coming in (12.5 and 80). I'm going to put those on and see if that makes any adjustment. I now need to get spacers for this thing, since I had it on two wheels, before my son gets on it. I'll keep you posted.

my son has run our 50 full open down some long straights and when powering through some heavy mud and it hasn't caused any problems with the engine. spacers are good, if you got some $$$ to spare try a set of ITP Holeshot or equivalent tires with offset rims. I got a set of 2" per side spacers and itp tires for my son's 80 and it handles great and is extremely stable (I can do doughnuts with it without going on 2-wheels) and it looks awesome.

I did the clutch ball mod last week and my son took it out for a real test yesterday. Everybody was saying how much faster it is. I am definitley happy with it now. I just hard wired it and modified the stock rubber hoder and it worked great! I still have to get tires and spacers but other than that this project is done. Just ordered a Meerkat 50 for my 4 1/2 old so that's my next project.

All you have to do is match the colors up. You will have two extra wires from the 50. I believe they are Green/Yellow and Skyblue. Just cap these off, they don't need to be used. The only thing you will have to do is adjust the carb. Hope it works for you!

Can you give me more details on the clutch mods you did? Also your in Chino Hills, where do you get your parts? I am in Chino and am in the process of making the same mods to my son's 50. Did the jet, throttle this weekend and now need to get the CDI, and clutch done.
Thanks,
Brian
