Default Stock air filter 150 gy6

I took my stock air filter off to clean the outer mesh cover and see how dirty the filter was (k@n knock off type). I noticed some fine dirt got past the filter and into the carb. Not good for the motor i guess. So i was wondering if there is a better filter to use that does not require me to rejet my carb i dont want to drill my new carb as i will probably mess it up. To clean the stock filter soap and water?

I have the same motor and was thinking about using a pre-filter over the whole thing!!!!!!.........When I change the one on my Polaris 450's I was going to try and use it over the air-filter on the GY6..........................Caper..........

Never had it off the GY6 yet......Is it paper?...
