2008 polaris outlaw 90
#1
Does anyone have a 2008 Polaris outlaw 90 yet and have anything to say about this particular model year, either good or bad?
I'm looking to get one of these in January for my two daughters. I had them sit on one at the dealers and they seem to fit on it better than some of the other 90cc that we looked at. I hope we can get at least two years out of it before they outgrow it and want something bigger. They are 10 now, but will be turning 11 in February. We have a lot of younger kids in the family that will get some use out of it when they are done with it so this particular quad won't be sold anytime soon unless we have problems with it, but I didn't want to have to buy a bigger one in another year for them.
This will be shared by my twin daughters and we plan on going to our property where we can ride every other weeked so it will get a lot of use. I'm looking for reliability and durability in a kids quad and I hope this fits the bill. I can work on things, but I don't want it to consume all my time. I like to buy reliable things that can be enjoyed without excessive maintenance. My time and my family time is very valuable to me. I'm fine with chaning oil, tuning up and even tinkering with performance add ons, but I hate being stuck with something that is broken all the time and has to be fixed before every ride.
Any experiences with this quad are greatly appreciated.

i dont have one myself, but, my friends kid rides the tar out of thiers and we even take it on 40 mile loops...20 there and 20 back only goes 25 but did it no problem.
the kid is big for his age probably 125 lbs and it takes all he can give it without so much as a hiccup.
i am actually looking for hop up parts to make this one go a little faster. i will try and post if i actually find anything.
hope that helps

I don't think you will have any problems as far as reliability. As long as its maintained it should gives the little ones years of enjoyment. I just got the "08" Sportman 90 for my son's 7th birthday 2 weeks ago. The Sportsman 90 and the Outlaw 90 are basicly the same just different plasitics and tires. I have few friends with Polaris's and never had any problems. My son has been having a blast on his and I will prably be buying a 2nd one when his little brother gets his age or outgrows the 40cc he has now, Good luck and I'm sure you and the kids will be happy with the Outlaw 90,,

Thanks for the responses.
The wife and I decided not to wait until the first of the year and went ahead and picked up the Outlaw 90 for the kids. I will post a review soon to let you know what I think about it. They got to ride it a little in the back yard today, but its a pretty small space and they really couldn't do much. My initial thoughts after watching them for about an hour on it, is that we got them the right quad and right size. We are taking the new quads to our riding spot this weekend so we will get a lot more time and a lot more room to evaluate them.

Got an '07 Sportsman 90, Welds broke on rear swingarm the 2nd time we took it out. Warranty replaced the parts but dealer did a crappie job. The chain tightener fell off and they forgot to put the spacer in the bottom shock mount. It also has a whinning coming from the clutch like theres a bad roller. Haven't had time to take it apart yet. As far the bike itself goes, seems to do very well on the trails. Just my 2 cents
