Default Engine Advice

I was wondering if you guys could help me on some input on weather i should purchase water cooled or Air cooled. Im thinking about buying a Roketa 250cc ATV-09 or ATV-60. They are almost similar in specs and all but my concern is trying to get the best bike at a resonable price. Another thing is that one bike has all disc brakes and the other has front drum brakes and rear disc brakes which is better for an ATV? Also one of the bikes has an adjustable rear shock absorber but what is the purpose? I would greatly appreciate it if i could get some input on these questions. Thanks

air cooled keep it simple less to go wrong, disc brakes are better but they use cheap pad material shock is adjust rear suspension to how you want it. what kinda price for the roketa atv? check out the hi bird brands.

Roketa has a ATV-09 250cc water cooled which dealer is selling for $1595. I like that one cause its a beginner bike cause i haven't rode in a couple of years. This bike seems to be what i need and will see if dealer can lower price a little if i pay cash. But Roketa also has a ATV-60 Which is its newest and an upgrade to the ATV-09 it has a larger frame bigger tire, alum wheels, upgrade muffler, little more horsepower and better climbing ability and the dealer wants $2495 which i still think its too much.

a liquid cool engine is always the better choice over an air cooled engine, liquid cooled engines the temperature runs cooler and is more consistence so the engine is manufactured to closer tolerances, it will also last longer than an aircooled engine because of the cosistence temperature, also on the liquid cooled engine horsepower doesn't drop off like like aircooled engines does when hot. liquid cooled engines run between 180-210 degrees, air cooled engines run up to 300 degrees, oil cooled engines somewhere in between. this is for information purposes only,

bill you are correct but when dealing with the chinese quads i believe the simpler the better i would take a 150cc gy6 motor over any 250 cc liquid cooled engine china is producing now. big name brands i will take liquid all day wait the family still has a couple of 20 year old honda 3 wheelers air cooled all original that still run like tops. got my eyes on a 2 up 650 cat meow.

That some good ifo to know guys thanks. i would like to get a Jap bike but i in my area there arent much to choose from used ATV and the ones ive seen are older and i dont like the way they look i like the new style ATV but there just to much. Im going to look in Phx to see if i find any good used ones i just dont want to have any problems with an old one. Another thing is im not going to be riding everyday or every weekend either maybe once or twice a month.

you always take a chance with used but you do with china too. and if you dont like to fix things a honda or something might be better.

I sold a high mileage beat up looking 89 350 Yamaha 350 Big Bear 4x4(see pics) for $1500 Canadian and have no doubt it will out last any 08 Chinese quad made.
