Default lt80 starting problems

I have a lt80 That I can't get it to start with the starter button, but if I pull start it it starts right up. I bought a brand new starter and a battery, but I don't think it is strong enoght. My engine is built. It is bored 80 over, port job, 20mm carb, DG pipe, head shaved, and clutch work, fresh rebuild, reeds. When I push the starter button it turns the engine over, but it seems like it is not turning fast enoght. I can't figure it out because when I pull start it it fires right up and runs great.

Welcome to the forums.
A LT starter can turn over a john deere tractor.
Your problem is a wore starter IMO.

Starter relay.4 prong under the seat,You can bypass it with a momentary togle switch. To verify use a jumper-just look at which wires go where.Remember simple problems usually have simple solutions.Do not overthink the problem!!

if it a new starter. its you battrey. try jumping off something (batt charger on start) watch how fast it starts. I going with battery. I know you say its a new batt to but what kind is it? I got the cheap one from walmart and in my moored motor does the same thing. two times around slow and goes faster and starts

Run a wire from the battery or a charger and touch it on the starter connection. That'll tell you alot.

sounds like your cylender is hydrolocked. pull the plug and hit starter and see is gas comes outof the plug hole. let it kick over for about 10 sec. the put the plug back in and see if it starts
