Chopper: I will take a look at the engine and see if it has FYM on it. I don't remember seeing that. Where abouts is it located on the motor?

Sounds like you have experience with a typhoon? Did you have any of these problems that I did? For sure you'd have the frame gusset issue.

Chopper: The engine does not say FYM on it anywhere. It does have an Xtreme sticker on the frame.

I think I will go with the big 4.

Xtreme Typhoons are big because of the price and what you can get for them. They do very well out of the box, even against the big 4. I have not heard of so many problems with them. That is why I questioned if it is a real Xtreme. From what you told me the dealer lied to you and it is NOT an Xtreme, but a copy.

So, they put counterfit ID plates on them? Are you sure about this?

If its a copy, they did a real good job. It looks exactly like all the typhoons I can find on the web and all the other ones I have seen. Is there any other way to tell?

If you use a factory in China enough. You can call them up, and tell them to put Honda on there and they will do it. The way to find out for sure is to call Xtreme with the VIN. There phone number is 888-844-9440.

I would say go with one of the Big 4 (lol I know coming from a guy with a Baja)

but it does say

"All sales are final. It is coming with 12 months replacement warranty on the engine. Product is inspected before it leaves our warehouse.

We carry Spare parts so you may always contact us for Warranty and Service."

I think I concur. I am staying with the big 4. Thanks for helping me to see the obvious. If I can't learn from mistakes, what good am I?

Chopper:

It turns out that I have a FYM Typhoon, not an Extreme Typhoon. They are made in the same factory, $1000 cheaper. The main difference is a less robust engine and some materials diffences in the frame. Geometry is the same and looks are very similar. Many of the problems I had, are problems that the Xtreme version has too.

Thanks for pointing that out.
