Engine bogs down
#1
If I hit a decent size puddle of water my sons Kazuma just looses power. Could this be because the engine is rapidly cooled or from the carb sucking in steam? Has anybody put a engine splash guard on there Kazuma? Did it help? I am also wondering if anyone has modified the intake tube from filter to carb.

It sounds like the air filter got wet & couldn't pull enough air. My youngest son has the real small 4 wheeler & when we went out last time he kept soaking his air filter with water in the same holes my 5 & 9 year olds were going thru on their taller 4 wheelers with no problem. I need to snorkle the smallest one. I just pulled the filter & blew it dry from the inside out with compressed air. Just don't blow from the outside in or use to much pressure.......................................... ......DF1

When it took out the filter there was signs of water getting in. So I blew that out also. I also tried some foam pieces to help stop some of that. Only then it was starving for air. I got off and pulled them out, much better. Then the carb stuck open. After taking the carb off. I realized that the rubber boot that connects to the carb had cracked. So off to the parts store, but nothing would work. Then I realized that a inner tube from a pedal bike worked great. Finally got the darn thing is running good again. On Saturday the thing ran like a champ! Even got if stuck in the mud a few times. Even outlasted my friends Badger!
