I haven't really heard of someone running methanol in a quad. I ran methanol in my competition truck, I do know that it does require a special carb for methanol. You can figure going through twice as much methanol than fuel and that is why it requires a different carb. It is to allow more fuel flow. You also have to be concerned about the compression ratio. Methanol will not be productive in a motor that has 14:1 or higher compression. The reason Methanol makes more power is that it burns slow and cold. It expands throughout more of the stroke and not just a flash, hence is high octane fuel. Octane is a retardent which is added to prevent pre ignition which would be detrimental to a high performance motor. If you do get it to work you will have to start the motor on gas. Typically a methanol motor will not start cold on just methanol, you have to inject gas to start it until it is warm.
If you get this to work let me know.
