Default A squeaking Viper 90R

I have an Eton Viper 90R which squeaks when it is moving. The best way I could describe it is anyone has been around track equipment and when it moves is makes a squeaking sound off and on. I first thought it was the chain and I took it off and cleaned it. I lift the rear end and spun the tires to see if the bearings were making the noise. I turned the small sprocket on the transmission to see if that was the culprit... nothing. But you can hear it when my son is riding. Any clues?

Does it only do it when its moving?...The shock bushings tend to squeak once they get full of dust..Try pushing up and down on the bike and see if you can locate it..How are the rear brake pads?

I tested the shocks and it's not them, the brake pads are not thin at all, matter of fact they are pretty new. My son can be on a level paved surface and you will hear the squeaking noise off and on. Thanks for chimming in on this oldyeller. If I spray WD-40 in and around where the small sproket attaches, do you think that I could damage the bearings if that was actually the source of the problem?

squeeking a pretty common problem, i find most of the time the squeek comes from the shocks mounting bolts, i'd remove them clean am then spay silcone on them. if you thought of spaying with wd40 use silicone instead, silicone will not leave any residue.

No you won't hurt anything but that should not be the source of any squeaking..That is the output shaft from the transmission which runs in its own sealed bearing and is lubed by the oil inside the transmission case...If you push the bike with the engine turned off does it squeak?

Thanks I will keep that in mind chineseatvmechnic, Oldyeller it will squeak if I push it, thats when I thougt it might be the chain and took it off and cleaned it after just spraying it did not work. I hope it's not a bearing of some sort.
