Default Has anyone soften up the suspension on Yamaha 80

My Yamaha Raptor 80 is horrible for my kid to ride. Has anybody soften the suspension to make it rideable. A different spring or a different shock maybe? I just want to make it soft like my bigger atv. I was just wondering if anybody has done anything about the stiff suspension. Thanks for any ideas.

I have heard about people cutting about an inch off of the plastic spacer at the top of the front shocks to soften them up some. ebay has some off-brand (chinese)shocks for the minis that are available. the high $$$ way is to get a set of WORKS shocks. I've done quite a few mods on our 80 but not any suspension changes. however I have recently started to think about the suspension at the request of my son.

I know a works shock would be the answer but I don't want to sell my first born to get one. I was thinking about softer springs but where do I find some?

I've also heard that a Honda XR70 rear shock swap will soften up the back end. In the front I've heard about cheapy Chinese shocks swaps would help soften it up.
