John Deere 500 trail buck - HELP
I have a John Deere 500 trail buck and i have problems keeping it running, it will run for a while on fullchoke but eventually will shut off, and shuts off when i pull the choke down, i played with the idle screw today and turned it higher and ran for a while then backfired twice and shut off and i had to push it back. What could this be?

It is 'starving' for fuel. You probably have some sort of blockage in the fuel supply system. Clogged, dirty fuel filter. 'Crap' in the bottom of fuel tank blocking 'outlet' hole. Crap blocking the fuel inlet valve (float valve) within the carb. Kinked or collapsed fuel line. Vent in gas tank cap blocked. Crap blocking the fuel petcock (shutoff) valve. Fuel petcock 'shut off' but leaking a small amount internally. Gas tank out of gas.
