What Oil for Kids Chinese Quad 50cc
#1
I recently bought a 2nd hand chinese quad for my 7 yr old son. It needed welding as the rear suspension bracket and exhaust had sheared, but they were easy enough to fix. Electrics were dud - so went round with amultmater and sorted that, then replaced the spark-plug to a Denso one.
My question is what oil do I need to put in the sump and how much normally goes in. Its a 4 stroke with a drain plug & filler hole. Also, do they have an oil filter and if so where would it be. The engine is one of the "Honda C50 " style types.
I have loads of 15W40 which I use in my cars, but I imagine it would need something lighter?
I am located in Aberdeen Scotland and the temperature varies between 0C and 20C (if were lucky!)
Many thanks in advance.

Hi ecohouse1, Good morning
An usual car oil often brings a slippery clutch to C50 clone engine. "MA" type oil such as "Honda G1" should be used in order to avoid it. Hope enjoy a wounderful quad life with your son.
