Help me pick for my six year old son
#1
I am a mom of a six year old and two year. Obviously this youth 4 wheeler, (quad, not sure what I am suppose to call it!) is more for my six year than my two year, but we will have it for him when he gets older. I found a sunL 110cc remote start and stop on craigslist, but reviews are bad for sunL. Then my sister in law, who wants to get one for her son as well, is looking at this one:
http://www.saferwholesale.com/...20lg%204%20stroke.htm
But reviews are bad for Legion Global.
Then theres this one:
http://www.bestpriceatvs.com/p...=16198&cat=248&page=1
but I can't figure out what brand it is to research it. The bottom line is, I feel like if I by an off brand, I am buying junk. If I don't buy an off brand, I am going to spend a ton of money. I just want a four wheeler for my son to ride around in the pasture and across the pasture to grandma's house. I don't need anything fancy, but don't want to buy junk. Anyone's opinions will be greatly appreciated, my head is swimming at this point! Thank you in advance!!!!!

if you're looking for a quad to be handed down from th 6 year old to your 2 year old in a couple of years you need to quit looking at these chinese quads, chinese quads are fine only if you are very mechanical and expect nothing, keep looking on craigslist or even e-bay for a used major brand quad 50-90cc, they may not be new and shinny but they will be more reliable. trust me on this one you'd be a lot better off.

i would go with the yamaha breeze 125, it built a little bigger then the other 125's and it has a govener on it so you can set top speed on it. plus the chinese quads are known for breaking down and you cant find parts for them, you can get yamaha parts any where. ive seen breezes on ebay for about 1200 bucks, it may be a little more then what you want to spend but ion the end you will save money on mechanical fees.

"yamaha, honda, suzuki, kawasaki, can-am, polaris, arctic cat"
I'd forget about the Yam and Honda as they are models that require shifting. I doubt you want the extra learning curve of a sfift model.
The rest has what's called a CVT transmission. It's a belt drive machine that does not require shifting. Simple to learn, simple to own.
A LT80 Suzuki is a good option and seeins that they are not raced anymore, you can find used ones for CHEAP (500+). One of the most durable machines out there.
A 90cc for a 6 yr old is borderline but on the throttle there is a screw to limit the throttle thus making it as fast or slow as you want it.
I also agree with not getting one of those china wonders (ya wonder what's going to break today).

I saw on one listing that had two different models for sale, one was a two stroke and one was a four stroke? What is the difference and which one do I want for my son?
Also, please help me understand....what is a quad--is it the same as calling it a four wheeler? Do I need to decide if I want a utility or racing? I am sorry if I seem dumb, I am about this topic. But I really appreciate everyone's help and advice in helping me to make my little boys very happy on Christmas morning!!!

man ya'll raking the Chinese quads over the coals... Chinese ATVs are a perfect choice for first time or new riders. Check out Jet Moto or Rocketa they have great ATVs with tons of safety features. My 3 boys ride Jet Moto , one 90cc and 2 110cc, and they ride hard and often. There machines are working great. Stay away form the SUNL...

I found a 2003 Suzuki LT-80. Would that be a good choice? Any opinions?
I am reading that if you do buy Chinese, the brand seems to be Jet motto. Anybody that has had good and bad experiences with them, please let me know.
Thanks!
