Need help with 200 Yamoto

Need help with 200 Yamoto
Purchased a 2005 Yamoto 200 really good shape, having trouble with the reverse. I pull the lever in reverse, the lever moves, but when I select gear and release clutch, nothing happens. The chain moves. Now I can't travel forward, same as putting it into reverse.
I've adjusted the cable, with no luck.Do I need a new Backup Assembly? If so, where can I find such a part? And is it a big job to put on? Help, I have a very unhappy boy here>
