lt 80 knocking?

I use heat to assemble.
I like to get the brgs to go on the crank first. I use a fine sand paper till they slide on snug.
Then I get the crank in the right case, the brg in the left. Apply sealer and heat the brg on the left. It should go together easy.
Hope that helps.

Well got it all back together tonight and with about 10 pulls on the pull starter(did not put rear fender and battery in) and the choke on she fired right up. Had lots of smoke for a little while(I poured some amsoil dom into the crank bearings and lower end earlier today to lube the bearings). Shut it down and finished off the rest off the parts and she started right up with the starter. I let it warm up for a bit and then had my boy make about 20 laps around the yard kind of easy, then had him do about 10 at about 3/4 throttle. That thing sounds great and runs good. I am going to do a few more cycles to make sure the rings are seated good. I bet the crank has been bad for a while because I did 2 top end rebuilds before and it never sounded this good. Well thanks for all the info and help and especially Jack, He is the expert.
