Hensim 50cc oil change
#1
just got a new hensim tierra 50cc atv for my son for Christmas. He loves it and so far we are very pleased. The directions/owners manual however suck. I know that we need to change the oil after 5 hours of use, but we are unsure where the oil drain bolt is? We assume that it is on the bottom of the motor but both of the bolts are difficult to get to. We were also wondering if it is a metric wrench? If any one knows how to change the oil on one of these, please let me know. My son wants to ride today, but I would really like to change the oil first. Thanks for your help.

did you get it new? if you did you should have changed the oil first . even befor starting it. I have a redcat with a 50cc motor. yes its a PITA to get to getto the oilbolt. I custom made one of my wrenches to work. or pull off the bar running under the motor. I will go look what I did and see if I can help more

Why would want to change the oil first? When I bought my hensim 150cc quad I was told by the dealer that the oil in the engine was a special break in oil that would help prolong the engine life if I followed the directions. The directions were to run the engine easy at no more than half throttle for 1 hour then change out the break in oil. Then change again at 5 hours, and every 15 hours thereafter.
The dealer I bought it from seems to know what they are doing. They have a full service center including a machine shop and welding facilities. They do a lot of custom mods as well.

I was told change oil,put new oil in Idle for 30 min. and change again. then 5 hours then 15 hours. and I have not had 1 problem. the place where I got mine has been in bus. for 6 years in the same spot so I trust them. the oil that is in when transported is as thick as water. its just in there to stop rust and condensation from the trip over seas in the boat.
