My daughter has a Raptor 80 it is a 2001,we were riding 2 weeks ago it was running good,we loaded it up to go home, the next time we went riding it would not start,I changed the plug ,cleaned the carb, checked the wiring, sprayedether in the carb,it is getting compression, it turns over but won't start up,I tried everything to start it . If anyone knows what the problem might be please let me know. John

The small bore bikes have a lot of issues with carbs. One thing you absolutely must do is make sure when you are putting it away, to turn off the gas and let it run until it runs out of gas in the carb. That will help to keep the gunk from building up. I just sold my sons 80. I had a lot of issues with the carbs. Had them rebuilt 4 times last summer. The cause? The poor crap they call gas these days. With all the alcohol in the gas, it is gunking the carbs faster than they can be cleaned. The main jet was the culprit on ours. I also had to replace the fuel filter often, as the alcohol was eating the filter material First off, are you getting fuel to the carb? Is the float working? Do you have spark? Check those, I suspect you will find your problem. Check the kill switch too. Sometimes a bad ground can keep it from starting as well. Expect the dealer to charge anywhere from 350 to 500 for a carb cleaning....

It could be a lot of things. You might have an air leak etc. In my case, along iwth gunk in the carb, I had a family of mice that made a nest in my air cleaner. Did you test for spark yet?
