Default KFX80 cylinder down

All, First time post. I have been following the forum for quite a while and it has helped a lot, thanks to all. Issue: I am in need of a new cylinder for a kfx80/lt80. I have had one ordered now on three different occasions and found out hat NO (dealerships/Ebay stores) can get them due to the issue that we have had with lead in toys from China. I don't quite understand the trade issue, but do know that the kids are not going to lick or eat the cylinder, well I hope. Anyway, Does anyone know where I can get a stock cylinder? The reason I am going with stock is that I have already bought the rest off the top end to stock sizes. Any help would be greatly appreciated, like you all, I am trying to be the hero that got the quad in running order again.
Thanks,
80dad

Welcome to the forums.
Curious, Why is it you need a cylinder? Yours is bored to 52mm?

Lt80, The cylinder has a one inch crack in it and can not be used again. Long story short, blown engine due oil starvation, had cylinder bored one size over on the re-build, rode the quad for quite a while, had a loss of power/compression, while taking the top end off (battery still connected, key on?) starter was engaged. (yes, this really happened) Cylinder cycled with the piston, thus leaving the one inch crack on the bottom portion of the cylinder and the piston was wedged in it, no known bottom end damage, everthing "looks" OK. Yes, maintenance induced maintenance, so I am taking the quad back to a "stock" condition other than the oil induction. I have used premix now for 2 years since the engine first blew.

Try Chris Grissom~ Suzuki of Paris (Tenn). He stocks more than anyone, but unsure if he can sell also.
Give him a try tho.

Lt80, Thanks for the contact. This lead issue seems like it is having a pretty big impact on the industry. I may not be able to go new, we'll see.
Thanks again,
80dad

All right, We are back in business...
onebigzj--told them what you said to say about Jack Moore and the cylinder arrived at the dealership today. Seems there has been a lot of pressure put on the appropriate political personalities. Anyway, if anyone cares the AMA website has the complete story as to what is happening with the lead issue and parts are available again...
