LT-A50 chain loose
#1
First post- I've been reading here for a long time and this is a great site. I picked up a used 2002 lt50 for my sons first atv. It is in great shape and thanks to information I found on here I have removed restrictors, smoothed out intake elbow, removed stacked pilot jet and installed 75 main jet and opened up air box. It runs much better after these mods.
Here is what I need advice on. Today I noticed a rattling sound and it turned out to be a loose chain. I did not recieve the owners manual with the quad- but it looks like there is an adjuster on each side of the rear axle to adjust it evenly, thereby tightening the chain. The problem is- it is already adjusted all the way out and the chain is still loose. The sprockets don't look to be worn out.
Anybody else have this happen? Do I need to buy a new chain? Do I try moving the adjusters all the way back and try to remove a link from the chain?
Thanks in advance!
