Gas Shocks from West Coast Quads
#1
I was wondering if anybody has ever bought the gas shocks sold on ebay by WC Quads. I think WC Quads is the on-line sales/parts arm for Apex Motors USA Inc. who makes the Apex racing quads out of the chandler, AZ. Only reason i draw that conclusion is i recently bought some E-ton/polaris set of shocks off ebay from the seller "wcquads" and the shipper was "Apex Motor USA Inc." and Apex's website has a link to WC QUADS .
The gas shocks are $75 each which is a bit more bearable and budget friendly than "Works" shock.

What quad are you thinking about puting this on? What is the length of your stock shock?
I believe the one you are talking about is 10 1/4". A poster on another site put one on his kids scrambler 90 and he is happy with it. Even though it came stock with a 10 1/2 the 10 1/4 may really still be a little too long for that quad but it is better. I have one also for my son and I have a 9 3/4 stock shock off of a dinli on the way to test it out. These polaris quads just came from the factory in a handling mess. A longer rear shock then the other taiwan quads with the same mounting points and then they also put 1 1/2 taller rear tires on them. Over the years they fixed the tires but I am not sure about the shock length.

I recently replaced the fronts with 10.25" shocks and was not happy with the results. My only option was to weld brackets on the inside of the lower arm and keep the mounts on top intact. using the existing lower brackets and drilling holes on top wouldn't work and caused the suspension arms to hit the frame. the net results have the top of tire wider than the lower bottom tire by quite a bit. I read the manual on toe-in but in think it's talking about different toe-in.
Clearly the shocks are too long. I need to take a look at dinli shocks to see if that's a better solution. prolly the best solution is out of my price range right now. (wife just broke her ankle on a slip and fall at our house so any extra funds will be going to her doctor.)
