2001 Scrambler 50 Starter
#1
I just bought a 2001 Scrambler 50 and the starter doesn't work. It has a new battery but when you press the starter button nothing happens. Is there a way to tell if it is a starter relay or starter that needs to be replaced? It does kick start and run just fine.
Thanks, Seth Tomlinson

I know absolutely nothing about polaris quads. So take my comments with a grain of salt.
I'm assuming there is an interlock of some sort to keep you from starting up your quad in gear and taking off unexpectedly. Do you remember what that interlock is? A lot of quads require you to step on the brake before the starter motor will turn. Others require the clutch to be pulled in, and/or the transmission be in neutral.
I'm wondering if your safety interlock circuitry is not being satisfied, therefore the quad won't engage the starter with the start button.
