Just a thought....

I have been reading all sorts on the internet, scouring everywhere for a answer or a clue.....

When I cleaned the carb (a Walbro WFZ) I noted that the main jet had a decent sized hole running the length of it.

The pilot jet just had 4 tiny holes at the top no main hole running through the length of it. Should this be like this as when I searched the internet I get answers that say it should have a hole right through it as well?

It felt so solid I thought that it was made to have no hole through but maybe it is clogged bad?

Did that make sense?

I think it's clogged. I think there should be a hole straight thru also.

Its stripped down and soaking overnight see if I can loosen it up, everything I read says the pilot jet should have a small hole running through the length of it....

i use an oxy-acetylene tip cleaner pack to clean jets along with carb cleaner and compressed air.

OK soaked the pilot jet overnight, still plugged so back on the internet I went looking for ideas to unplug it!

Found an ATV site where somebody had the same issue and it was suggested gentle heating with a lighter and then trying to push the hole through. Well after many attempts I have got through!

I have roughly gauged the hole I have to be 0.4mm / 0.016" does that sound about right before I put it all back together again or do you reckon it should be bigger?

SUCCESS!!!!!!!

I couldn't wait for a reply, just had to put it back together and have a go, automatic choke came on and it sat there idling. Choke went off and it still idled slow application of the throttle and perfect acceleration, took it for a quick spin and no pumping to keep it running at low throttle!!!!

Cut out at idle once but need to do some carb adjusting now, got to be careful with the automatic clutches that it doesn't set off if the idle is too high!

Going to hopefully source a spare set of jets I would still be happier with new ones in there!

Tx for the help guys, bike is like new now!
