valve adjustmet please help

I figured it out it was just so tight I the. 003 gauge wouldn't go in

Must be at TDC. Look at the video! Distance is set between the adjuster tip(#11) and the valve stem tip (#5) Just turn the adjuster until you feel a slight drag on the feeler gauge.Hold the adjuster as shown in the video and tighten the lock nut. If it's too loose or tight on the feeler gauge after tightening the nut,repeat the adjusting steps until you feel a slight drag.

Yes thats correct..number 11 is the tappet that touches the value stem an 12 is the jam nut .The feeler gauge goes between 11 and 10. under the number3....3 is the rocker arm,,

Got the gap done I am still having issues with this thing even wanting to crank any ideas it acts like the starter is weak and then sometimes it works for a min then won't spin anymore. It had a eBay starter on it brand new

Could be a crappy starter even if it's new, could be a bad cell in the battery(have it load tested),plus has the carb been cleaned ,have you done a compression check to see where you stand on the top end,especially after adjusting the valves?

I almost have it running it's down to a carb adjustment now but I am having cranking issues I tried replacing the starter agin with no change in condition so I got a brand new battery still had issues it will act like the starter is weak and randomly work but If I jump it with my car it works much better but still not constant anyone have any ideas on what's going on
