Hi guys, new to the forum, need some help, I've got a 01 Polaris 90 kids atv. We have had it awhile some issues but that's life. It's all stock I've replaced stuff here and there when needed but nothing to serious until now. Son had it out in the yard couple of weeks ago when it "just died" according to him. I heard him riding it so I know he wasn't getting crazy on it. Anyway, it would turn over normal, but not fire (no spark). We are on our second stator, checked that ohm'd good, checked keyed switch, had power in/out, checked and bypassed safety lanyard, replaced the cdi box, check coil / both sides ohm'd okay. I went ahead and got another stator because the other didn't ohm per the manual. No change, new battery, pulled all the plastic, changed plugs, checked the harness for cuts. Started chasing wires....near as I can tell I have no power to the on off on switch at the handle bars, no power to the coil,. Everything ohms out correctly, the only thing I can think is maybe the keyed switch is sort-of-fauty. Does the start relay near the battery also control that 12v system?

Can I throw a fused 12volts to the handle bar switch and back feed the system?

 

Pull the black plastic cover from the rear of the ignition switch and see if any wire has broken loose from the solder points.After market stators may sometimes be a problem as you've found out also. Connections are good, wires check out, heck even the switch works when pressed for start with or without choke. In my mind I keep saying stator, but what else could it be.
