2006 eton viper 70 2 stroke wont shut off.

Hello everyone, hopefully someone here has dealt with something like this, but I cant shut the bike off with the key, kill switch or tether. I chased done all the wires and I'm running into something weird at the start button and break lever. I got 12 volts on 1 wire when I pull the brake in but on the start button it dont get nothing unless I have the kill switch in the off position. And then with it in the off position it wont fire at the solenoid. It looks like it had a remote shut off on it but it wasn't on there when I got the bike. I took the kill switch out and replaced with a toggle just to see if that was it but it does the same thing. I'm lost, if anyone has any ideas, I would greatly appreciate any input.

Does the bike start "on the button"? If it does, stop messing with the start circuit. Assuming you have AC ignition, the kill wire from the CDI has got a fault, or the CDI has an internal fault. Disconnect plug from CDI, check the kill wire, (usually black/white) is earthed with the ignition switch one way and open circuit with it in the other position. Do the same for the kill switch. If they are earthed one way and not 'tother you have a faulty CDI. Make sure you get one for your machine, as old Etons can be a bit "different" to most makes.

OK, seems your wiring is messed up. However, luckily for you the manual is on-line with a clear wiring diagram. http://www.etonamerica.com/PDF/OM/OM_RXL507090.pdf Looks like the kill wire isn't black/white (Etons are "different"). Apologies too, looks like kill circuit and start button circuit are strangely linked.

Yes, I have that download and everything checks out, besides the remote kill switch. Do you think it could still be the cdi box? Do you know if another way to check the box?
Thanks

Or do you know how I could do away with the tether kill switch?
Thanks

I think I have worked it out, Positive to fire starter solenoid is "live" with ignition on and brake on via wire 10. The negative goes from battery neg wire 1 to ignition switch, when this is on, down to kill switch via wire 17, when this is on, via 18 to tether switch, then via 9? to CDI and start button. If any of these switches are open, it doesn't get a neg to CDI or start switch. Note also wire 18 goes to that remote plug. If you can disconnect wire 9 from CDI and it still runs, you have a CDI problem, as it must be an "earth to run" type CDI.
