Brake light question
#1
Bought a little 50 for my 6 year old. There is a brake light wired for it and it is functional, but only on one of the hand brakes. My kiddo prefers to use the foot brake at this time and I would like to add one in for safety reasons. My familiarity with ATV parts is lacking and am looking for some advice and what options I have. Thanks

Honda ATV foot pedals have the brake light switch worked by a tension spring attached to the pedal. When applied, the spring pulls the switch and on goes the light, further pedal movement extends the spring. Some brake lights are worked of the negative side, so you need to find out if the existing switch is run from the earth circuit. However I am a little puzzled as to why he needs a brake light, unless he is riding in a group of others, there won't be anyone behind him to see the light.

Thank you for the reply. I will look into that type of switch.
As for the need, I have two older kids and 6 quads total with all the others having brake lights as well. We trail ride a lot, so a lot of single file riding. We will also ride at night occasionally. Having the
brake indicator adds more peace of mind as my little one gains experience
