I recently got one of these for my son - boy was I in for a deep dive on Chinese quality manufacturing. After much pain (loose bolts, carb floats stuck, hoses not hooked up, etc) its been running well. I noticed the chain was super loose after a couple days of riding.

After tightening the chain, I noticed that the outer pad was rubbing on the rotor in one spot (a high side). I couldn't find any references to adjust this assembly and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for opening the gap between the pads or sliding the entire mechanism to one side or the other? Photos added for a reference to the style.

Pads will contact the disc, in theory the springiness of the rubber seal round the piston backs them off slightly but the chances of that pulling the calliper assembly away is remote, in practice either a slight wobble in the disc will push it back, or it will wear a tiny bit of pad away, and give clearance.

 

Thank you for your reply. I was wondering if I should just send it and let it wear. I let him ride for a bit yesterday and the contact did seem to subside.
