LT80 suspension mods
#1
Ok, we know the LT 80 has a lousy suspension, especially since the motor doubles as a swingarm. Does anyone know of any front end or rear mods that will allow me to add better shocks to the LT? Also, I don't plan on switching to another brand I like the LT80 a lot and think there must be a way to improve the suspension.

A while back I saw a post about how someone made a mounting bracket behind the axle so they could mount a small dirtbike shock on the rear. this gave him about 5" of travel in the back. On the front, check to see if shocks from some other minis will fit, like a Kasea or the new Predator 90. Those are supposed to have about 4" of travel ,twice the LT80. I've always liked the LT80, my son rode his for 6 years, with some minor mods,it is very peppy, and never gave us a lick of trouble.

Thanks LT and wolv
I have a buddy that can pretty much fabricate anything. The guy comes from a family of motorcycle racers. His Granddad and dad used to race harleys on dirt tracks. I have never seen anything he couldn't fix, motors, pumps, anything. I had him look at the LT80 and the first thing he said was ,well those shocks su** and there is no travel, LOL. He then spouted off something about atv manufacturers should be ashamed of themselves, calls quads baby carraiges, LOL. Still he is gonna help me for my kid's sake. What amazes me is he mentioned the bracket modification you speak about wolv, that was his first idea. I,m gonna look into that further.
Thanks again guys
