TRex,
Hope I didn't come off sounding arrogant, am a ten yr builder of custom Harley's and have just gotten into the ATV world in the last couple of years. Been interesting make the adjustment from one world to another. Not sure what you mean tho about the price advantage. Have seen alot of places for modifing these 90's but haven't found much in regards to the DS mini's. Have noticed that almost 80% of them carry the same basic characteristics. Must say that the Airbox design on the DS is rather strange. It's mounted under the seat right above the expansion chamber.
Didn't make sense to me,( drawing warm air instead of cool air!?) so remounted it like the scrambler's,and slightly modified it so it draws better with the jetting changes. Trying to make sure that all mods conform to all AMA and ATVA rules, this i think lets him have a competitive machine but at the same time teaches him that skill more than machine wins. Would appreciate any info on legal mods that i haven't seen and or sites i can go to.

Ajo77, being in New York, you need to check with D&D performance there. They make the pipes for the Polaris, and I know they do a TON of sled and wheeler porting. I have a buddy north of the big city who races ATV engine powered vintage sleds, and they have D&D do all their fabrications. I wouldnt know about the other things like A-arms and such,Bubba

Go with the pipe, clutch mods/kit, main jet, high compression head, and reed valve mods. The works shocks in the standard lenght is the way to go. More dollars and more serious travel go to the Elka set-up.
