Default how cheap can u get used c-dales?

I want to race but I don't know if I can part with my ex... maybe if I could get 3800 for the ex, but I doubt it. I had to get a partial loan for the ex, and they'd prolly be unsure about how wise my decisions are if I turned around and sold it. I think I'll have to hold out for a year or so til I get some money, then might just buy one and keep both. Oh and what would you suggest for a truck. I don't really care what as long as its cheap, like around a grand or so if possible, and can fit my quad in the back, I'd prefer it to fit with tail up, but I guess I could use tie-downs. It's 72.5 inches long. What model do you guys think I should look at? Also, I want to be able to get another 30,000 mile or so out of it at least. Think I should go with an old Toyota pickup or what? I know it's jap but what isn't and they run forever. I'm seriously looking kind of for a beater... for now. All eyes are on quads.

Get an old toyota with either the 22R or the 22RE (thats the fuel injected model) and a 4 or 5 speed. I have one that is like an 85 and it runs amazingly well still. They rust out and can look rough but man they seem to run fine for a long time. I also had an 83 Celica that I had little trouble with for about 15k miles. You can't expect the world out of stuff that is as old as you but for what they cost I think an old Yota is hard to beat when it comes to longevity and reliability.

my stepmom had a toyota corolla and it had 195,000 miles, and never had one single problem with it but it got too small for the number of kids she has. My brother's 89 honda accord had 206,000 miles on it and just now had... rodents chew threw some computer cables. my dad had an old Toyota Pickup that had high crazy miles on it, and he loaned it to his father who then tore the frame apart but that had nothing to do with the engine just lack of competence. My mom has a 2002 ford expedition and the mechanic says she didn't beat it enough so she lost compression in piston 1. yes she had 100000 miles on it already but still. yeah it's good for the economy to buy american built but these japs can make an engine. thanks for the input again thomez, how cheap do you think I could get an older pickup for with around 150000 or so miles? I know it's hard to say but what would you say roughly?

When you are buyin a used car, it don't really matter much - the money went to either Japan or the US when the original purchase was made. They aren't seeing the next 4 sales in their accounting one bit. That's how I look at it at least Plus, more Toyotas are made now in the US than any other company that I know of. I view them as more American made than GM, Ford, or Chrysler - JMO. I think you can find a late 80s Yota with that many miles for 1500 or less as long as you only want 2WD. 4WD will run you more cause they are pretty popular still.

Dude I was 15 not that long ago at all - I just turned 20 - so I know how it is. At 15 I bought a 74 Nova SS Then it sat around mostly cause I couldn't afford gas! So I drove a Mercury Tracer, a VW Rabbit, the 83 Celica, the 85 or 86 Toyota truck, and then finally I moved up to my current Tacoma at the beginning of this past summer. Lets just say I was 19 before I was driving anything worth more than 1500 bucks LOL.

Hang in there it gets better!

I basically plan on getting a 2wd because of price. Since I'm in Minnesota it'd be nice to have 4wd, but it would also be nice to have money so what are you gonna do? I'm prolly gonna get an old yota', but is there anything else I could get truckwise for cheap?

Old Ranger, S10, Dakota, Isuzu's run forever from back in the day before they were Fords ... umm.... can't think of anything else. Yota is #1 everything else comes after IMO.

I have owned used Toyota 4x4's since High school.
1979 threw a rod at 280,000 mud running 33in.tired mi.!
1990 bought with 80000mi for $8000 traded in for 97 Tacoma got $8000 with 195,000 on odo.
1997 Tacoma V6 extra cab bought with 1500 mi light crash damage now has 110,000 trouble free mi.Pulls a 6x12 enclosed trailer with two quads and gear at 70-80 mph no problem other than only getting 11 mpg.Without trailer it will get 24mpg on highway but almost all mi on mine were pulling that trailer to races.
Only other option would be a two wheel drive chevy with 87 or newer body.If motor and tranny go they are cheap and easy to replace.

thanks 27,
hey one more question how much do they all run for stock used. Like you can normally find a stock ex for like 3000 generally how much are each of them? Is there a big price difference between the moto and the cannibal price tag. I saw kandk was selling new leftover cannibals for 3500, but had heard stories of motos new being around 12000, is that true or horror stories? I understand the difference and the mapping and everything, but what about price, used.
