Default help!!

I bought a 03 cannibal 2 weeks ago and have have nothing but problems..I rode it the first night and I had it and my lights were on,it stator cuting out and then died...The battery was dead..There was no power to the harness coming off the stator...And there was power off the voltage regulater..So I bought a stator and I hope that cures it ..meanwhile I changed the oil in the engine after 1 hour and not the tranny yet...I have about 5 hours on the bike but today I was riding it and it started puking up oil in the air filter..I head that I filled it up 2 full? Is that right? Anyway.. another problem I was riding it and I have no 1,2,3, gears..I was going down the road and shifted down and i went into nuartural and that was it..then up shifted and then it went back into 4th and then 5th....I don't know nothing about these things its al computerized....and it sat for 7 mounths before I got it and it had bad gas in it. And has a hard time starting too...I have 02 300ex and the cannondale is way faster but miss reverse and reliability...Can anyone help me? and I have the stud kit,,,and I am going to get the crank balanced....

www.cannondaler.com and www.cannondaleriders.com

You must do the updates or you will have one expensive repair bill sooner than later. Oil puking is one of them. Stud update/Stage 8 is another.

Hold on there buddy . Just relax. Now tell us something about your quad. Is it new or a used. If its used and sat for 7 months. Why? Whats the history? Who did the updates? If used the chances that the battery is toast from sitting discharged is good. Please read Tips for Cannon owners . Check the running voltage from the battery with the engine running before poking and prodding wires and make sure its charging at least 14 volts. I dont understand how you are checking the stator for power but the wires under the flywheel can rub through if the stator update is not done. All service manuals and bullitens are available from cannondalers web site for free so download them first and go by the book and dont start changing parts just to see if they will work.

Now for the tranny, Cannon trannys are usually very strong and the biggest problem is the tranny filter was installed incorectly and gets eaten by the gears causing havoc on the system.

When you changed the oil did you drain all three drain points for at least 10 minutes each with the dipstick out. Overfilling is very easy and just a few ounces is enough to cause it to blow oil out the air filter box.

So many problems are caused by incorrect maintenence it isnt funny. You have to go by the book and check the simple things first. Ground cables, take them apart and clean them and tighten .

the cannondale was new but it sat for a long time.. no one out here could afford them so they just sat in a crate. I bought it and I found out that the voltage regulater is not working. And the bolts came loose on the tranny, so I'm haveing a shop put the update on and when they came loose they broke some plastic gears and I ordered those, I hope that is all..But I have a question about the crank they say that there is problems with them? how do you know if yours is good? and how much does it cost? and where do you get it done? Atk?..Thanx for the your time....

Almost all cranks need looked at/balanced. www.diamondracingatv.com can help you out. They have options with lowest price being less up to a $600 kit of goods.

Get the Stage 8 update, not just the factory stud update - or at least make sure they are using loctite for you.

You really should check out the other sites I mentioned - great info.
