First off go to Cannondaleriders or Cannondaler web sites. Study up and learn all about the engine updates and the wonders of fuel injection. Then I recomend testing one out. I doubt youll want to "hop them up" but theres lots of hot rod goodies for those that want even more. Be sure to budget for a diagnostic and maintainence kit(D&M) about $300 new. Its for comunicating with the ecu. Hopefully the quad you buy will come with one. Parts are plentifull and cheap.
A year ago I wouldnt recomend one to most people but now we have most of the issues the factory didnt get a chance to finish perfected.

Ive been trying out a lot of Hybrid maps lately. The Zack1 map with the 11,800 rev limit is the map for an insane top end . It pulls hard up to about 10,000 and then has an incredible hit to redline. I gained 10mph over the stock moto map but Reving the engine that high will undoubtably lead to valve float and top end failure. It sure is fun to try though..
Ive got to get a map select kit so I can switch maps while riding.
Last year I used the moto/speed map a little but on trail rides but it wears you out fast. I did like the blaze/speed for mileage and ease of riding.. Not as much wheel spin but good top end.
I just switched to the Zack1 map with the 10,500 rev limit .
The speed map is a good map but it if you have a pipe on it will run to lean.
Seriously download all the maps (they are free)and see which ones will fit your riding style. Be sure to do a plug check or get on a dyno with an air fuel meter to get the fuel settings squared away .
